Operation Intergeneration Childcare is a collaborative daycare program with the residents at the Montana Veterans’ Home and children enrolled in the Farms’ childcare program. Children and residents interact throughout the day for special events; gardening, farm animals, music, story, movies, meals, preschool, arts and crafts, etc.
Upon arrival, children come to the Montana Veterans’ Home Service Building to start their day. Daily program scheduling is set in advance so parents, caregivers and children know how and what to expect and prepare for. Children need to be prepared for all types of weather so they may be able to work in the garden and to help care for some of the farm animals.
