steps to make wooly soaps

step 1.

Unwrap a bar of soap

step 2.

Take wool out of the Ziploc bag

step 3.

Carefully unroll the wool

step 4.

Wrap wool around soap in several different directions. Be sure to cover all the soap and especially the corners.

step 5.

Add different color wool to your soap or leave it plain. Just wrap it in different directions.

step 6.

Carefully place your wrapped soap in a nylon to make the wool hold tight to the soap.

step 7.

Spread out the reed mat.

step 8.

Put soap in the water and saturate. Squeeze out the extra and rub it to make it soapy (you may need to add soap to start the process)

step 9.

Rub the soap on the reed mat so the wool will start to felt together (like Velcro). You may need to do this for several minutes.

step 10.

Check to see if there are little hairs sticking out of the stocking. If so you are ready to take the soap out of the nylon.  Rinse in cold water and let dry.
You now have soap and a washcloth together. The wool will keep felting around the soap as it gets smaller. When the soap is gone you may cut a hole and add another.
